Disneyland in Anaheim will bring back its 'Mickey's Mix Magic' nighttime spectacular for a limited engagement from November 1-12. The show, featuring DJ Mickey Mouse spinning familiar Disney tunes set to a dance music beat, is scheduled to run briefly between the park's Halloween and Christmas holiday seasons, as Daily Bulletin reported.
During its two-week return, 'Mickey's Mix Magic' will include fireworks on specific dates. These pyrotechnic displays are scheduled for Sunday, November 1, and then again from November 6-8. On weekdays outside of these specific dates, the show will be presented as a projection-only experience, without fireworks.
This 10-minute presentation is characterized by the use of lasers, specialized lighting, and projection effects. It transforms prominent park structures, specifically the buildings along Main Street U.S.A. and the facade of the 'It's a Small World' attraction. These surfaces become a dynamic canvas displaying original animation that features well-known Disney characters, creating an immersive visual experience.
The musical score for 'Mickey's Mix Magic' includes its original theme song, 'It's a Good Time.' The show also incorporates a selection of popular Disney songs from various animated features and attractions. These musical selections include 'I Wanna Be Like You' from 'The Jungle Book,' 'Ev'rybody Wants To Be A Cat' from 'The Aristocats,' and 'Friend Like Me' from 'Aladdin.' Additionally, the soundtrack features 'Grim Grinning Ghosts' from the Haunted Mansion attraction, 'Un Poco Loco' from 'Coco,' and 'Let It Go' from 'Frozen,' providing a diverse set of familiar melodies.
'Mickey's Mix Magic' originally premiered in 2019. Its debut occurred prior to the grand opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge within the park. Its current return serves to entertain guests during a transitional period at the Anaheim theme park, bridging the gap between major seasonal events.
The return of 'Mickey's Mix Magic' coincides with a brief pause in other major entertainment offerings. Halloween Time at the park officially concludes on Saturday, October 31. This final day includes the last 'Halloween Screams' fireworks show and the Mickey and Friends Halloween Cavalcade at Disneyland. Concurrently, Disney California Adventure will host its last Oogie Boogie Bash after-hours event and the 'Mickey's Trick and Treat' show.
Following this transitional period, the Christmas holiday season is set to commence on November 13. This festive season will introduce new attractions and shows, including the 'Believe in Holiday Magic' fireworks show and the A Christmas Fantasy Parade at Disneyland. Disney California Adventure will also launch its holiday offerings, such as the Disney Festival of Holidays food festival, the Viva Navidad Street Party, and the 'World of Color — Season of Light' water show. It is noted that during the November 1-12 timeframe, there will be no parades or cavalcades scheduled at either Disneyland or Disney California Adventure.
